Case Study Berwick Bank Offshore Wind Farm

The biggest proposed offshore windfarm in the western hemisphere, Berwick Bank will provide 4.1GW of clean energy when built. Located off the eastern Scottish coast, the site is in close proximity to important and sensitive nature sites including the iconic Bass Rock gannet colony.

Juno was contracted to provide advice on consenting strategy because of its experience in navigating complex scenarios and multidisciplinary teams.

Critical analysis of assessment methodologies and parameters was undertaken that resulted in key adjustments to the modelling methodologies and a refinement the project design envelope and site boundary which resulted in a significant reduction of predicted impacts with very minimal impact on project economics.

Juno led on key elements of statutory stakeholder consultation in the pre-application phase and was instrumental in reduces the time to submission of the application.
