Case Study Gower Power - Solar Storage and local supply
One of the very first local energy projects in the UK, GPSS partnered with Ecotricity to create a mechanism for supplying local residents and businesses with energy from the development in Dunvant Swansea.
The initial phases were solar farm development, planning, client representative on construction of the 1MW solar farm. The project was then extended with a highly innovative local energy supply project with 1MWh Tesla Battery whilst controlling output using realtime demand information from the community of up to 300 customers.
The project was delivered with funding from the Welsh European Funding Office and Development Bank of Wales
