BVLOS Drone Survey Demonstration

Juno Energy has supported the development of beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) drone survey approaches for offshore environmental monitoring at the Morlais tidal energy site.

Work has focused on assessing the feasibility of extended-range UAV operations to overcome limitations associated with visual line-of-sight surveys, particularly in offshore environments. Initial demonstration activities have included deployment of VTOL fixed-wing platforms capable of wide-area coverage from coastal launch sites.

The programme is supporting the development of scalable survey methodologies to improve data coverage and reduce reliance on vessel-based operations
